The small Field Station area serving Kenneth S. Norris Rancho Marino Reserve was once the home of the seaweed farmers. In 2001, a Use Agreement with the current owner established the reserve under the management of the UCSB Natural Reserve program. Infrastructure includes a meeting/cooking area modular home, camp area, showers, outhouses and fire pit for users
