Visiting Rancho Marino

Reserve Use / Make A Reservation

Does your proposed reserve use involve research, education or public service? If so, then day use (free) and overnight use (fee) of the reserve facilities are permitted. To visit Rancho Marino Reserve or one of the other UCNRS reserves, each group, project, or person must:

  1. Complete an online Application for your proposed Rancho Marino Reserve use. If you don’t already have an account, you’ll need to set one up.
  2. Then, submit a Reservation for each visit. Be sure to keep clicking “Next” until you are completely done! You will be told that you have successfully submitted a Reservation. Feel free to contact the Station Manager to discuss your plans, or if you have questions.
  3. Once your Reservation is approved by the Station Manager, you will (usually) receive a confirmation e-mail. If not, contact the Reserve Manager to be sure.
  4. Agree to complete, and sign a waiver form and photo release for each visitor (English and Spanish versions available). Deliver signed waivers to Station Manager prior to or upon arrival.
  5. Researchers should submit metadata, and provide credit to the “UCSB – Rancho Marino Reserve” in publications resulting from their visit(s).
  6. Sit through a Rancho Marino Reserve orientation talk by the Station Manager.
  7. Need more help?

Once your application has been approved, you must make advanced reservations to visit the reserve through RAMS and receive staff approval for your visit.  Multiple visits can be requested at one time.
